The ‘landscape-hospital’ concept plays a consolidating role in a new urban plan for the area. It offers an image of modernity, quality of life and welcome to the whole hospital site.
Designed as a ribbon, the building stretches out between wooded slopes and settles itself into the environment. The ‘butterfly’ shape gives the project its architectural identity.
The idea of art in a hospital, colour, and a variety of lighting and materials, are all part of de-dramaticising psychiatric hospital treatment.
